The future of drones flying over the skies for a variety of purposes, such as transporting goods, providing security, and inspecting facilities, is almost here.

Intent Exchange uses automated negotiation technology to coordinate the flight paths of multiple drones to ensure safe, fair, and efficient operations.

01Provides operational management services for next-generation air mobility

Drones, the number of which are expected to increase at an accelerated pace in the future, will no longer be managed by conventional centralized air traffic control systems, and a shift toward decentralized flight operation management is underway internationally.

Intent Exchange will apply automatic negotiation AI to the decentralized flight operation management system to enable instantaneous route coordination among multiple aircraft and operators.

02 Demonstration of a Distributed UAV Traffic Management System for a National Project

We participated in the “Demonstration Project of a UAV Traffic Management System Considering Regional Characteristics and Scalability” of the “Drones and Robots for Ecologically Sustainable Societies project (NEDO *1 DRESS Project *2 )” and verified Japan’s first distributed operation management system based on international standards in the Wakkanai area. The project was Japan’s first verification of a decentralized flight operation management system based on international standards in the Wakkanai area.

By using automatic negotiation AI, we verified that the system can instantly make adjustments among operators and safely operate flights even in the case of sudden changes in flight plans.

03 Providing route coordination services to drone-based prescription drug delivery operators in conjunction with telemedicine.

Due to depopulation, access to medical care in Hokkaido and other regional cities is becoming more serious. In this demonstration, we provided an operational management system to a drone operator delivering prescription drugs in the Wakkanai area, and conducted Japan’s first drone operation in compliance with the “Guidelines for Pharmaceutical Delivery by Drone” issued by the Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in June 2021.

04 Toward an Advanced Mobility Traffic Management Platform

In the future, not only drones but also advanced mobility such as flying cars and self-driving cars will come and go, and are expected to revolutionize transportation and logistics by interconnecting with conventional transportation networks.
